The House
At Ronald McDonald House New York, just minutes from the city’s major hospitals, they find more than a place to stay. They find hot meals after long hospital days. Playrooms loud with laughter. Quiet corners for hard phone calls. Neighbors who understand without being asked. A home where kids get to be kids first. Cancer patients second.
Who we serve
We serve families brought to New York by the worst news of their lives. Children fighting cancer and other serious pediatric illnesses. Parents who haven't slept properly in weeks. Siblings holding it together in their own quiet ways. They come from every zip code, every background, every story. At Ronald McDonald House New York, every one of them has a home.
What the House offers families
A community of families who understand
A place to land
With 95 family rooms and six specialized transplant suites, Ronald McDonald House New York provides families with a safe, comfortable place to rest and recharge during treatment. Designed to feel like home, each space gives families the chance for a good night’s sleep, moments of peace, and the security of knowing they are surrounded by care and support.
The comforts of home
From a family kitchen and stocked pantries to laundry rooms on every floor, the House is designed with the comforts of home in mind — creating a warm, welcoming place for families during an incredibly difficult time. Peaceful green spaces on the 3rd and 7th floors, along with compassionate staff and volunteers, help surround families with support so parents can stay focused on what matters most: their child.
360 degree care
When a child is seriously ill, the diagnosis doesn’t stay in the hospital room. It travels home with the family. It sits at the dinner table. It lingers in the silence between siblings and follows parents into sleepless nights. At Ronald McDonald House New York, 360-degree care means we look beyond the patient to the people who love them, providing housing, meals, programming, and a community that understands what this road feels like. Because healing isn’t a solo act. It’s a family endeavor.
Our Family Rooms
Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are located just steps from pediatric units. This proximity is by design. It gives caregivers a place to rest and recharge without straying far from their child's bedside.
The goal? To help parents prioritize their own well-being. Because when they're cared for, they can focus on what matters most: care for their child.
Our strategic growth goal
Our strategic growth goal: Since opening our first Family Room at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in 2016, we’ve expanded to three additional locations across eight hospital partnerships. We’re working to bring Family Rooms to every borough, ensuring no family has to leave their child’s side.
