Our Impact
Together, we’re changing what’s possible for families facing pediatric illness.
For more than 46 years, our impact has been measured one family at a time. Ronald McDonald House New York gives families a place to stay and a community to lean on when their child needs medical care in New York City. From the House at East 73rd and 1st Avenue to Family Rooms in hospitals across the city, we ensure that no family ever faces it alone.

How We Support Families
RMH-NY has continuously lightened the load for families dealing with pediatric cancer and other serious illnesses, offering a nurturing home away from home while their children receive medical care at NYC hospitals.
Family Rooms
2024 marked a significant expansion with two new Family Rooms at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan and Montefiore Einstein. These Family Rooms represent more than just physical spaces; they are a hub of emotional and psychological support, helping families to maintain a sense of normalcy and stability during a health crises. Families describe it as “a welcoming escape.”
Volunteers
Volunteering at RMH-NY changes the lives of kids with serious pediatric illnesses one smile at a time. There are opportunities for individual volunteers, corporate volunteering groups, or bring your local organization or club and lend a helping hand
Programs & Wellness
Prioritizing the well-being of caregivers everyday.
The Blavatnik Family Foundation Wellness Center is home to wellness programs for caregivers intended to support self-care and mitigate stress. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our dynamic wellness volunteers and donors, we offer caregivers a variety of services that focus on a holistic approach to wellbeing. These include exercise, massage, meditation, creative art classes and more.
Caregivers can also enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, a fresh smoothie or snack, or to simply take a quiet moment to bask in the beautiful city skyline in a calm and serene environment. Caregivers use the fully equipped gym area on their own time.
In the spirit of meeting the needs of our diverse House population, wellness activities and special events are ever-changing and aim to meet the unique needs and requests of caregivers.
For more information about Wellness Programs, please contact Jillian McKiernan, Assistant Director of Wellness and Family Rooms at wellness@rmh-newyork.org.
Population Heath
Our dedicated Population Health team addresses the social factors that shape pediatric health outcomes in our local communities — housing, food, transportation, healthcare access. Through New York State’s Medicaid 1115 Waiver and partnerships with three Social Care Networks, we connect families across all five boroughs to the support that keeps children healthy.
