Elmhurst Family Room FAQs
-
Can I visit the Family Room at Elmhurst Hospital?
The family room is for caregivers, other family members and friends who are visiting a pediatric patient in the NICU, B7 Pediatric Unit or the Inpatient Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit. (Patients themselves are not allowed in the room but may come to see it after they have been discharged.) Children are allowed in the family room with you as long as they have an adult (18 or older) supervising them at all times.

What amenities are available in the Family Room?
The family room is a relaxation and respite space where you can recharge, rest and take some time for yourself before you go back to visit your child’s bedside. We have food & drinks, a washer & dryer, crafts, television, recliner chairs, an Ipad, phone chargers, reading books, activity books, games, puzzles, toys, wellness and personal care products and resources all available for you to use throughout the day for as long as you need. We also have various events and wellness activities throughout the year.

How much does it cost?
There is no charge. Everything we have to offer in the room is complimentary and you never have to pay to use our space. We want to make sure you have all of the resources and energy you need in order to be able to take care of your child. If you would like to, you may donate any amount of your choosing to Ronald McDonald House New York.
