Who is allowed to visit the family room?
Our Family Room is for caregivers of children receiving inpatient care at Kings County Hospital, particularly those with children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and pediatric units (PEDS and PICU). It provides a space for these caregivers to rest and recharge while staying close to their hospitalized children.

What can you expect when you arrive?
Upon arrival, caregivers will find a welcoming space equipped with amenities designed to enhance comfort and provide respite during hospital stays. The Family Room, hosted by dedicated staff and volunteers, includes a kitchen, washer and dryer, bathroom, and lounge area. These facilities offer caregivers a place to relax, prepare meals, and attend to personal needs, all while remaining close to their child’s treatment area. The supportive presence of the staff and volunteers ensures that caregivers receive personalized assistance and a nurturing environment.
