At Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY), the holidays aren’t just a season—they’re a full-blown celebration of joy, connection, and community. Throughout December, families staying at the House experience “31 Days of Cheer,” a series of festive events designed to brighten spirits during challenging times. From Santa rappelling down the building like a holiday action hero to elaborate hot cocoa bars and the ever-popular Reindeer Games, every moment is infused with magic. These events offer families a chance to escape, laugh, and create cherished memories while navigating pediatric medical care far from home.

Signature highlights include Miracle on 73rd Street, Secret Shopper event, pajama party, movie nights, cardmaking and more. The festivities also embrace global traditions, celebrating Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and customs from around the world, ensuring every family feels included.

Every December, RMH-NY transforms into a haven of hope and holiday cheer, showing families that even in the toughest times, the warmth and support of the House can make the season truly magical.

A heartfelt thank you to our friends at Macy’s for transforming the House into a holiday wonderland. Your stunning decorations brought the magic of the season to life, filling our home with warmth and joy!

This Christmas was one to remember for our families at the House! Santa made a heartwarming visit, delivering gifts to every child and spreading holiday cheer. Adding a touch of magic, Santa climbed aboard a firetruck to wave to families through their room windows, creating unforgettable moments of joy.

The festive spirit continued with lively Christmas carols filling the air. Special thanks to the dedicated teams at the NYPD 19th Precinct and FDNY Engine 44 for making the night truly extraordinary. It was a holiday celebration full of love, laughter, and community—a true Miracle on 73rd Street!

At Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY), volunteers are the heart of creating a supportive community for families navigating pediatric illness. In 2024, these dedicated individuals and groups made extraordinary contributions, transforming the House into a home filled with hope and compassion.

From individual volunteers offering daily assistance to corporate teams organizing special events, their efforts ranged from assembling care packages and beautifying spaces to providing meals and hosting celebrations. Skills-based volunteers lent professional expertise, enhancing operations behind the scenes, while special event volunteers brought joy through holiday festivities and themed activities.

RMH-NY also celebrated the invaluable partnerships of organizations like RBC, Bloomberg, Macy’s, and the Youth Advisory Council, among others, whose collaborative efforts enriched the lives of the families served. Highlights of the year included thousands of care packages delivered, countless meals shared, and vibrant events that offered families moments of respite and connection.

As we reflect on this impactful year, we extend our deepest gratitude to every volunteer whose compassion has brightened lives and strengthened our mission. Looking ahead to 2025, RMH-NY invites new and returning volunteers to join in continuing this meaningful work. Together, we can ensure families facing medical challenges feel cared for and supported.
