Our Strategic Growth Plan: More than Just a House

Our Vision: We see a world where children with cancer and other serious illnesses and their caregivers have the resources and freedom they need to thrive.

Who We Are

For more than 40 years, Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY) has offered compassion and support to families of children with serious medical illnesses.

We Are More Than Just A House

We help with more than cancer care. Besides providing a home away from home for families during their child’s treatment, we show up through Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in New York City hospitals, wellness programs, tutors, music, art, transportation, community and more.

Our Mission

Ronald McDonald House New York provides families of children with cancer and other serious illnesses a strong, caring and seamless circle of support. During a difficult time, we’re devoted to easing the burden. Through our wide array of facilities, services and programs, we address social factors of health so that families can focus on what matters most: their child.

What We Do

At the intersection of healthcare and hospitality, RMH-NY is passionate about everything that impacts the lives of children and their families. We understand a child’s health journey is emotional, so we relieve stress on our families — including those in underserved communities in NYC — in many ways as their child undergoes medical treatment.

Our Family Rooms at NYC Health + Hospitals at Kings County and Elmhurst serve as the model for our growth. Located near the pediatric wings in both hospitals, The Ronald McDonald Family Rooms allow caregivers of children in treatment to prioritize their own health and well-being, so they can focus on what matters most: time close to their child and helping them get well.

But our mission of health equity doesn’t end there. Caring for each family is a long-term commitment, which is why we provide resources and community even after their stay at Ronald McDonald House New York is over. We are here for everyone in the family for every stage of their story, from lasting chronic illnesses to ongoing child development.

Where We're Going

Our work is never done. We’re always asking ourselves how we can better serve our growing community of families. That’s why we’ve expanded beyond the four walls and roof of the House. By 2025, we aim to strengthen our presence across all of New York City and address broader economic and social conditions that impact health. That includes opening family rooms in every borough, growing our partnerships with community-based corporations and broadening our donor base. With a presence at more hospitals throughout the five boroughs, we can help even more vulnerable and impoverished families right here in New York City.

How You Can Help

Led by our leadership team and our wonderful staff, we are entering a new phase of Ronald McDonald House New York. But we can’t do it alone. We rely on the generosity of our donors, corporate and hospital partners and volunteers to help us provide the highest level of compassionate care to the children and families of RMH-NY.
