In celebration of Mother’s Day, the Programs team hosted a heartfelt photo frame decorating activity for our young friends at the House. The project invited children to create personalized frames as special gifts for their moms—or a parent or caregiver of their choice. On Saturday, the craft tables were buzzing with creativity as many of our young guests enthusiastically joined in, adding colorful designs, heartfelt messages, and plenty of glitter to their frames.
The activity was a beautiful way for families to share joy and express love ahead of the holiday.

On Monday, April 28, Ronald McDonald House New York celebrated National Superhero Day with a larger-than-life event that brought out the hero in everyone.
The day kicked off with a cape-making workshop hosted by our Children’s Enrichment team, giving our young residents the chance to design their own superhero attire—because every great hero needs a great look. Laughter, color, and creativity filled the room as kids crafted capes that were as bold and unique as they are.
But the real magic happened outside.
In a thrilling twist, professional climbers from Skyline Access dressed as iconic superheroes and rappelled down the exterior of the House, stopping at windows to wave, pose, and connect with the children inside. Batman, Spider-Man, and Captain America soared down the building in a display of joy and strength that left everyone in awe.
The heartwarming spectacle drew attention from the local press, helping to spread the message far beyond our walls: at RMH-NY, courage wears many faces, and heroism happens every day.
A heartfelt thank you to Skyline Access, our Programs and Volunteer teams, and everyone who helped make the day unforgettable. From creative capes to real-life heroes dangling from the sky, it was a celebration that reminded us all that superpowers come in many forms—especially the power of joy.

In celebration of National Children’s Day, Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY) partnered with RBC Capital Markets and the New York Stock Exchange to spotlight the power of corporate-community collaboration. During a special NYSE TV interview, Bobby Grubert—Chairman Emeritus of RMH-NY and Head of Digital Solutions at RBC Capital Markets—shared his personal connection to the House and RBC’s longstanding support of its mission.
What began as a call to action in 2008 has grown into a robust partnership. RBC’s 200+ volunteers contribute through regular dinner services, themed family events, and emotional support. RBC also invested $1.05 million in RMH-NY’s Health Equity Data Center, helping deliver over 35,000 support services annually and expand care to 30% more families through digital innovation. Grubert highlighted the lasting emotional impact of these efforts, noting how even small acts of kindness can bring comfort to families facing the unimaginable.
The segment also spotlighted “Skate with the Greats,” RMH-NY’s beloved annual fundraiser, and the upcoming 2025 Gala honoring NYSE President Lynn Martin for her advocacy in women’s health.
