God’s Love We Deliver Sends Extra Emergency Meals to Ronald McDonald House New York for Children With Pediatric Cancer and Their Families During the Pandemic

The two New York-based organizations are working together to ensure families dealing with treatment in these uncertain times have access to nutritious food free of charge

New York, NY (March 26, 2020) - God’s Love We Deliver, the metropolitan area’s leading provider of medically tailored meals, as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic has increased their weekly meal delivery to Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY), which provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families in a strong, supportive and caring environment. God’s Love and RMH-NY share the mission of creating a supportive and nurturing environment for individuals living with severe and chronic illnesses, as well as for their families and caretakers.

The New York City organizations are working diligently to continue supporting families during an increasingly difficult time. God’s Love We Deliver continues to send 100 “Breakfast To Go” deliveries weekly. These kits include various breakfast foods for families and are made available to take on-the-go to one of RMH-NY’s partner hospitals for treatment. Additionally, since last week, God’s Love We Deliver is sending 600 frozen food components (450 entrees + 150 soups) to RMH-NY for four weeks.

“We are thrilled to be able to support our partners at Ronald McDonald House New York at this critical and uncertain time,” said God’s Love We Deliver Vice President & Chief Development Officer David Ludwigson. “Medically tailored meals are essential for people living with serious and chronic illness. Especially now, we understand that the combined impact of these two organizations supports healthier and happier patients and extends to their families as well.”

“It’s so important that we continue providing care and support to families as they fight against cancer, and the medically tailored meals we are receiving from God’s Love We Deliver will enable us to further our mission during these challenging circumstances,” said RMH-NY President & CEO Ruth C. Browne. “We are beyond grateful to God’s Love and each of our partners for their generous contributions so that we can stay focused on maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our families.”

Research shows that while 20% of a person’s recovery from illness is based on clinical care, 80% is socially determined. The two organizations share a commitment to addressing the social determinants of health by providing nutritional medically tailored meal options for families at the House.
