🎥 Watch the full interview above featuring Bobby Grubert, Chairman Emeritus of Ronald McDonald House New York and Head of Digital Solutions at RBC Capital Markets, live from the New York Stock Exchange floor.
In celebration of National Children’s Day, Ronald McDonald House New York partnered with RBC Capital Markets and NYSE to spotlight the power of corporate and community collaboration. In this inspiring interview, Bobby Grubert shares his personal connection to RMH-NY and the deep, ongoing impact RBC has had on our mission to support medically complex children and their families.
“It’s really easy to make a difference,” Grubert says. “Volunteer. Serve a meal. Bring a smile. That’s everything.”
RBC and RMH-NY: A Mission-Driven Partnership
What began during the 2008 financial crisis as a call for help has evolved into one of RMH-NY’s most committed partnerships. Thanks to RBC and its incredible team of over 200 volunteers, families at the House are uplifted through:
-
Biweekly dinner services
-
Themed events like Bingo Night, Cupcake Design, and Holiday Celebrations
-
Personal connection and emotional support during challenging times
Beyond direct service, RBC has made a $1.05 million cornerstone investment in our Health Equity Data Center—a groundbreaking initiative delivering 35,000+ support services each year and expanding our ability to reach 30% more families through digital innovation.
Real Impact, Real Families
Grubert recounts a touching moment when a young mother introduced her son—also named Aiden—and shared how much RBC’s support meant to her. “This is the why,” he says. “That connection. That feeling of normalcy we’re able to give families during the hardest moments of their lives.”
Through programs like music and art therapy, educational tutoring, and critical transportation services, RMH-NY helps families find strength, community, and joy—day by day, meal by meal.
Fundraising with Heart: Skate with the Greats
One of RMH-NY’s most beloved annual events, Skate with the Greats, brings NHL legends and families together for a night of fun, connection, and giving. From Rod Gilbert and Brian Leetch to Henrik Lundqvist, this fundraiser has become a staple of RMH-NY’s calendar—and our second largest fundraising event of the year.
