A Mother's Day Note from Bryana

Bryana's sweet and thoughtful Mother's Day Gift to Mom.

In the spring and summer of 2018, Bryana and her mother stayed at Ronald McDonald House New York.

They were nearing the end of a very long war with cancer that was full of big battles that they weren't sure they'd win. Despite some dark times, Bryana and Mom found the light and grew closer than ever.

Mother's Day

It was Mother's Day approaching and Bryana had no idea what to give her mom.

Flowers and candy didn't seem sufficient, and she didn't have much money to spend on something fancy from Tiffany's, so she thought and thought. As she came to her realization, Bryana needed to design a gift that would show her Mother all the love and gratitude she had for her.

As a result, Bryana finally decided what would be perfect for the woman who gave up everything to remain close to Bryana and ensure Bryana had a chance to recover and live a healthy life.

The Gift

Bryana expressed in a letter to her mother her admiration and gratitude for the strength and courage that her mother has shown throughout this long and difficult process. Bryana did not hold back in telling Mother how much she loved her.

This Mother's Day, if you think and think and cannot figure out what would be the perfect gift for your Mom to show her how much you really care and how thankful you are for everything she has done for you, then take a moment to follow in Bryana's footsteps and write a letter to Mom.

A Tribute that Keeps Giving

To take this letter-writing gift one step further, Ronald McDonald House New York will provide you with an Ecard to personalize and send to your mother for the holiday. This is if you make a small monthly gift to RMH-NY.

You could still send that letter to Mom and help more kids like Bryana stay close to her family.

He Gave His Brother More Than a Gift

He Gave His Brother More Than a Gift

There are moments in life when love stops being something that is said out loud and starts becoming something that is done—quietly, instinctively, without hesitation.

For the Bishop family, that moment came not with a grand speech or a dramatic gesture, but with a simple decision from a 13-year-old boy who didn’t need convincing, didn’t need time, and didn’t need to be asked twice.

Two Sides of the Same Door

Two Sides of the Same Door

Not many people experience a place like Ronald McDonald House New York from both sides of the front door. Fewer still understand it as both a professional partner—referring families in their most vulnerable moments—and as a parent walking through those doors in crisis, searching for stability, rest, and proximity to their child.

Giselle Morales has lived both.

And right in the middle of it all was Marcellus climbing, exploring, carrying 18-wheeler toy trucks bigger than himself from one end of the Family Room to the other while his mother, Natalie, told stories that moved seamlessly between humor, honesty, and hard-earned wisdom.
